Working With Children Check
To comply with current government requirements, our club must ensure that the appropriate child safety checks are in place for all activities. As our weekly competition and carnival events are held across two jurisdictions, different legislation applies.
Weekly Meets (NSW)
Our weekly meets are conducted in New South Wales and are governed by NSW legislation. As children must be supervised by a parent or carer at all times, only coaches are required to hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
ACT Carnivals
Our carnivals are held in the Australian Capital Territory and are subject to ACT legislation. Under these requirements, all parents, carers and volunteers who assist at carnivals must hold a valid Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
If your child intends to compete at ACT carnivals this season, you must provide the Club Secretary with evidence of your current WWVP registration before attending. Unfortunately, children will not be permitted to participate in ACT carnivals until this requirement has been met.
We encourage all families to arrange their WWVP registration as early as possible to avoid any delays in participation.
